Michael D

Michael D is definitely my hometown hero. He served in the U.S. Military for 23 years (now retired) in the Navy (Combat Medic), Marines, and Army (Military Police). He is a kind, loving, generous man. Currently, he is attending ASU and studying to become a Special Education Teacher. He loves children and knows how it is to struggle with learning disabilities. At 48 years old, he has so much motivation and determination to become a teacher, and he is inspiring to me. He only has 1 year left to complete his education, and I know he’s going to make an amazing teacher! Despite his pain and injuries from serving in the military, he works through it all to work out and keep fit. I have so much respect and admiration for this man, who is so dedicated to his country, his family, and his friends. I am blessed to have him in my life.

Landon A

I am nominating my boyfriend Landon A. He has served 8 years in the military and 3 tours in Iraq. He has won many honors and awards for his leadership and dedication for serving our country. He is now working full time and has taken a leadership role yet again being a father and good example to my two kids. I would love for him to be acknowledged and remind him that his hard work does not go un-noticed and he is loved.
