I just got word that The Civil Wars have split and have cancelled their tour because of “internal discord and irreconcilable differences”… HUH!!?? That sounds like divorce talk to me. I had to google and double check to make sure they were an actual “romantic” couple and confirmed they ARE married, but not to each other. To other people.
So… I thought geez! It’s hard enough for two creative people to work together as it is. It must be difficult for actual couples to work together. How do they make it work? There’s a lot of difference in vision and scheduling drama and egos and ideals of ambition and life all ON TOP of the “normal” couple stuff that’s already pretty tough.
Well, Miranda Lambert might have the formula. She and husband Blake Shelton seem to be making it work as a creative duo (their song “over you” just won several awards recently.) Here’s what she says:
“We won’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other, but sometimes, not seeing each other works wonders too. If we spend TOO much time together, we’ll kill each other!“ - Miranda Lambert
It seems to be working for them, as well as a few big names in the industry like Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook and Thompson Square’s Shawna and Keifer Thompson.
